Free assistance is available every Monday between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and at other times by appointment at the TESS Community Action Center. For information and appointments, call Maureen Laurenas at 240-773-8254. Walk ins are welcome.
Due to Covid 19 closure of the TESS Center and our efforts to social distance, appointments are currently being handled by phone or by zoom until such time as the TESS Center reopens and appointments can be held in person.
The Project, in partnership with the Montgomery County Community Action Program’s TESS Center, assists parent in
- Creating a safety plan for their family in case the parent is detained or deported or has a sudden health issue;
- Completing the Parental Designation and Consent to Beginning of Standby Guardianship form (the Form) which designates someone to legally care for the children in the event the parent is detained, deported or suddenly taken ill.
